Over-Ear / On-Ear. It's sort of common knowledge that using the Yaxi earpads on the Koss Porta Pro (an astonishingly good headphone on its own) improves the overall balance and brings out the treble a bit. While there is an abundance of verbal descriptions as to just how exactly this changes the sound, I have yet to see a decent measurement of I tested my new Kramer-Modded Koss Porta Pros with all cushions I had: Stock Pads, Sennheiser PX 200 Pads and Sennheiser HD 414 Pads. My experiences with them: PX200: After reading threads about them and seeing pictures of them modded to Porta Pros or KSC 75 I had to get em. For my sorrow they absolutely do not do what I expected in them. IEMs can compete with the Porta Pro in terms of having better tuning to their sound. Even $20 IEMs like the Moondrop Chu would sound better than the Porta Pro because its known to be dark sounding while the Chu have a more mid forward, sparkly treble.
