It’s time to replace the solenoid. The solenoid, which controls the locking and unlocking functions of your door, maybe broken or need to be replaced. What to do in case of One Lock Failure Start the investigation at the fuse box if any of the door locks are broken. Check to see if the fuse protecting the door lock circuit has blown.
Re the door lock: If the door ajar warning works ok on that door, and the car double locks ok (ignoring that door), then it sounds like either the locking motor has failed, or the connections or drive circuit to it have a problem. Or, if it is anything like the Focus, each door module has it own fuse, so it could just be that. Check connections on FP lock see if there is any current getting to the actuator, If its not the FP lock its the main lock actuator FD on the drivers door that usually controls the activation of the other door locks. Its a common fault on pre 2004 mondeo's ,mine only worked in warm weather

The rear passenger one was due to the door rubber not seating correctly on the metal ridge. On shutting the door it would lift off. This as I found was due to the door lock being too far in and causing the door to sit in by about 3-4 mm, enough to push the rubber over.

96 door lock problems - far0n : The drivers side door lock on my 96 fiesta has developed an annoying problem. It'll lock, but won't unlock. My 95 Mondeo had exactly the same problem not long back so I'm thinking this must be quite common with Ford door locks. My red key doesn't work either.
This would only happen every other time you rocked the car, however as the problem became more common I noticed the rear passenger door not actually locking. Since then I have had to manually lock the door, however on occasions it does open with the main central locking when activated by the key.
The very first Mondeo was introduced in 1993 by Ford and was a replacement for the Ford Sierra. Since the launch the Mondeo is currently in its Fourth Generation. Car was taken into ford who diagnosed an earth problem with the door lock module. They said the earth problem may also be causing the tyre pressure monitoring fault I had on the dash. They said some of the interior needs to be stripped out to trace the fault and may take up to 6 hours. The fault was traced to a wire under the passenger seat Original problem: does not lock drivers side front and rear door using remote central locking. Manually locking drivers door only locks that door, i.e. no manual central locking of other doors. Begins as an intermittent fault; As Problem worsens: Drivers Mirror / window controls fail to operate windows / mirrors on passenger side of vehicle. .
